" A great painting is a well thought out collection of human gestures recorded with a mark making tool . The artist evokes a response in the viewer with the marks he leaves behind . Composition, rhythm, color , focal point, contrast, mood, detail and line, are all chosen by the artist and recorded with carefully planned movements of his hand. "

Patrick’s technique is quite unique. His style was developed in the fusion of two media.

After a lifetime of traditional study in oils, acrylics, watercolor and pencil, he began experimenting with Fractal Media and Acrylic paint in 1992. The combination yields vibrant and exciting paintings with exceptional control of color and superb quality in reproduction. Fractal Media is a cutting edge painting tool for fine artists allowing them to record their unique human gestures with a magnetic pressure sensitive brush on a canvas that is wired to a recording device.  

Like oil paint, watercolor, and pastel, Patrick paints using traditional academic rendering and compositional skills. With the color mixing palette and dozens of custom made brushes, he crafts the subtlety, nuance, focal point and character of each painting. After recording the gestures of the painting sessions with a recording stylus or "Brush" , the painting is ready for archival production. One Master canvas and a series of limited edition Giclees on canvas are produced. After the Master is completed, Patrick hand paints, a second time, in acrylic paint to refine the dimension, add complimentary colors, and sculpt the surface play of light.

Some of the original Masters and all Giclees shown, are currently available. The prices shown are for unstretched, limited edition, signed and numbered Giclees on canvas. Hand embellished Giclees are available in each edition for an additional cost.
